As Per Our Media reports …. Former Australian cricket team captain, Steve Smith, has surprised his fans with his announcement of joining the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Although Smith did not disclose his role in the upcoming IPL, he has played for various franchises in the past, including Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors India, Rising Pune Supergiant, and Kochi Tuskers Kerala.

Steve Smith’s IPL Record and Potential Role in IPL 2023 as Commentator

In his IPL career, Smith has played 103 matches, scoring 2,485 runs with an average of 34.51 and a strike rate of 128.09, including a century and 11 fifties. While it remains unclear what role he will play in IPL 2023, several media reports suggest that he might be seen in the commentators’ box.
With his exceptional batting record in international cricket, Smith is considered one of the best batsmen the game has seen, often compared with his contemporary Virat Kohli. He has played 96 test matches, 142 ODIs, and 63 T20I matches for Australia, scoring 8,792 runs in Test matches with an average of 59.80, 44.49 runs in ODIs, and a strike rate of 125.21 in T20 games.
